PETER JACKSON has endorsed Town's new matchday anthem.

Instead of running out onto the Galpharm pitch to a booming rendition of Robbie Williams' Let Me Entertain You, Town will appear to Take Me To The Town.

The tune will be familiar to fans - it's the recent chart hit Take Me To The Clouds Above by LMC - and the remix is by keen Town supporter and professional vocalist Georgia.

Record company All Around the World have given their permission to use the song, which starts with the words: `There's a team I know, they're the ones I dream of.'

Manager Jackson said: "It's catchy and we hope it will prove a hit.

"This is a new season in a newly-named stadium and we thought it would be nice to have a change of anthem before matches - especially with it being performed by a keen Town fan."

Georgia has been a professional singer for six years and recently appeared with a 17-piece swing band at the Manchester Opera House.

* Memories of the play-off final will be stirred at the Galpharm tonight.

That's because pre-match entertainment will be provided by opera singer Laurence Robinson - the man who sang the National Anthem before Town's success at the Millennium Stadium.

"We will extend Laurence a warm welcome and hope that he proves a lucky omen, just like he did in Cardiff," said club spokesman Alisdair Straughan.

The 38-year-old tenor is based in North London but has been invited to perform at the Galpharm tonight as a guest of the club.
