PETER JACKSON is confident Town will challenge for promotion again this season.

The McAlpine manager steps up Town's preparations for the League I campaign when he takes his senior side to face Rotherham at Millmoor tomorrow (7.45).

And with less than two weeks to the big Coca-Cola kick-off against Stockport at Edgeley Park, Jackson believes skipper Efe Sodje and Co are primed to upset the bookies' favourites.

"I reckon any one of a dozen teams could win League I this season - including us," said Jackson, who was unhappy with a 2-2 draw at Harrogate Town in which Pawel Abbott (pen) and Chris Brandon scored.

"Bristol City and Tranmere are the favourites while we are priced in the middle of the pack at 25/1 for the title.

"If we get off to a good start - which I'm confident we can - then we've nothing to fear in the division and those odds could be great value."

Jackson added: "None of the three promoted teams beat us last season and yet Doncaster are better odds than us for the title and Hull City are third favourites.

"I don't think anyone is going to run away with it and, if we stay consistent, we'll challenge."
