Frankie Bunn’s Professional Development League II North leaders went behind to an 11th-minute penalty put away by James Thorne after a foul by keeper Lloyd Allinson.

But Wales Under 21 international Charles levelled within a minute.

Charles then headed a 78th-minute winner.

Town were captained by William Boyle, back from a loan spell at League II York City.

Town are next in action at home to Crewe Alexandra next Monday, January 18 (1.00).

And on Monday, January 25, they face Southampton in the second round of the Under 21 Premier League Cup at St Mary’s Stadium.
