Round-up
That’s all from us today - here’s a round-up of the best rumours from today.
We’ll be back again tomorrow to take you through another day of the January transfer window.
Have a great evening.
Leicester sign Ndidi
Not Championship, but the Foxes have signed centre-back Wilfred Ndidi from KAA Genk for £15m.
The defender has signed a five-year deal at the King Power Stadium.
Liverpool reject Stewart offers
The Liverpool Echo are reporting that the Reds have rejected several bids for 23-year-old midfielder Kevin Stewart.
Aston Villa, West Brom, Swansea, Brighton and Newcastle United were all believed to be interested in the starlet, but Jurgen Klopp wants to keep the £12m-rated man at Anfield until at least the summer.
It is believed the Reds rejected a £6m bid for the youngster last summer.
Newcastle bids
Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle United reportedly have already put in loan bids for as many as three midfielders.
According to Chris Waugh at the Chronicle, Newcastle have bids in for Everton’s Tom Cleverley and Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek and have enquired about Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph.
In terms of outgoings, Cheick Tiote and Aleksandar Mitrovic could leave the North East this month.
Villa keen on Lansbury
Sky Sports are reporting Villa have joined the race to sign Forest midfielder Henri Lansbury.
Derby are believed to have already had a £2.5m bid rejected.
Karl Henry
It looks as though Karl Henry will be allowed to leave QPR this month after a bust-up with boss Ian Holloway.
West London Sport claim Henry has been training with the reserves since the fall out and has been made available to other clubs.
The 34-year-old combative midfielder joined Rangers in 2013 and signed a 12-month contract extension at the club last summer.
Omar Bogle
According to Sky Sports, EIGHT clubs are looking to sign Omar Bogle form Grimsby in January, including Championship sides Norwich and Wigan.
Bogle has netted 18 goals in 26 appearances so far this season and the Mariners are bracing themselves for substantial bids.
Rumours suggest Rotherham have bid £350,000 for the striker, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Danny Ward
One bid has been rejected for the Rotherham striker.
No mention of which club put the bid in, but it wasn’t Ipswich.
Bamford to Boro?
Patrick Bamford has been linked with another loan move to Middlesbrough as his temporary move to Burnley has not worked out.
The Chelsea striker - who has been loaned out to Boro, Burnley, Derby, Crystal Palace, MK Dons and Norwich over the last four years - has made just five appearances for the Clarets and the Blues are considering recalling the forward - according to the Nottingham Post.
The paper claims Aitor Karanka is keen on taking Bamford back to the Riverside, which could lead to a Jordan Rhodes exit - especially with Rudy Gestede set to sign for Boro as well.
Warren Joyce
The Wigan boss didn’t think his side deserved to lose at the weekend.
Take a look at what he had to say...
Birmingham in for Sako
Birmingham City have tabled a £4m bid for Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako, according to the Press Association.
Palace bought the forward from Wolves in 2015, but he has failed to make an impression at Selhurst Park.
If the deal is done, Sako would become the most expensive signing for the Blues since Nikola Zigic and Ben Foster joined the side in 2010 for a reported £6m each.
Jansson to join Leeds permanently?
Pontus Jansson looks set to join Leeds United on a permanent deal after the defender played his 20th game for the Whites.
Sky Sports claim the defender’s loan deal allows Leeds to sign Jansson for around £3.5m once he has played 20 games for the club - a number he reached against Rotherham last weekend.
The fan-favourite is likely to sign a permanent deal with Huddersfield Town’s West Yorkshire rivals later this month.
Town departure
It’s not one of the playing staff leaving the John Smith’s Stadium, but performance analyst Chris Markham.
The 30-year-old is leaving Town to lead a tactical analysis team at the Football Association.
Good luck to the lifelong Town fan.
Derby's Lansbury bid rejected
Steve McLaren has confirmed Derby County have had a bid for Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury rejected.
Here’s what the manager said:
I know a bid was put and I know it has been rejected, so we will have to revisit that and make a decision on that one. I haven’t spoken to the board but we will discuss that further. I’ll leave it to the club and see if anything can be sorted. He [Lansbury] is a player we have always admired.
Birmingham City are also believed to have pulled out of the race for the midfielder, while Newcastle remain interested - according to the Chronicle.
Wagner on January departures
Here’s what the boss had to say about the January transfer window last week - it’s definitely relevant now!
Tjaronn Chery
QPR’s Tjaronn Chery has told the club he wants to leave in January, according to Sky Sports.
The creative midfielder has been left out of the Hoops’ last three match-day squads despite being their second-top scorer behind Idrissa Sylla.
Sky Sports have reported that two clubs have enquired about Chery’s availability, but do not specify the sides.
Gestede medical
Rudy Gestede is having a medical on Teesside ahead of a £6m move to Middlesbrough.
Personal terms are close to being agreed - according to Sky Sports - and Gestede’s move could lead to the departure of David Nugent and/or Jordan Rhodes from the Riverside to a Championship club.
