Patrick Bamford has been linked with another loan move to Middlesbrough as his temporary move to Burnley has not worked out.

The Chelsea striker - who has been loaned out to Boro, Burnley, Derby, Crystal Palace, MK Dons and Norwich over the last four years - has made just five appearances for the Clarets and the Blues are considering recalling the forward - according to the Nottingham Post.

The paper claims Aitor Karanka is keen on taking Bamford back to the Riverside, which could lead to a Jordan Rhodes exit - especially with Rudy Gestede set to sign for Boro as well.

Birmingham City have tabled a £4m bid for Crystal Palace winger Bakary Sako, according to the Press Association.

Palace bought the forward from Wolves in 2015, but he has failed to make an impression at Selhurst Park.

If the deal is done, Sako would become the most expensive signing for the Blues since Nikola Zigic and Ben Foster joined the side in 2010 for a reported £6m each.

Steve McLaren has confirmed Derby County have had a bid for Nottingham Forest’s Henri Lansbury rejected.

Here’s what the manager said:

I know a bid was put and I know it has been rejected, so we will have to revisit that and make a decision on that one. I haven’t spoken to the board but we will discuss that further. I’ll leave it to the club and see if anything can be sorted. He [Lansbury] is a player we have always admired.
