HONLEY Under 13s grabbed only their second win of the season over fellow Division I strugglers Ossett Albion.

Ossett scored twice but replies from Joe Kelly (2), Harry Hayes (2), Louis Hepplestone and Callum Beaney secured a 6-2 win for Honley.

With only nine points separating the second and eighth placed teams, promotion from Division II of the Under 13s is going to be a close affair this season.

And Lepton Highlanders did their hopes no harm with a solid home victory over Linthwaite.

Bayley Tyndall (2) and Scott Singleton were on target for Linthwaite, but replies from Joe Crossley (2), Jack Brown (2), Marcus Lockwood and an Oliver Ingham hat trick secured an 8-3 win and three points to keep the Highlanders among the promotion contenders.

Howden Clough and Rastrick Under 13s cancelled each other out in a high-scoring draw at Batley Sports Centre.

With both sides striving to move away from the Fourth Division relegation zone, points were at a premium and, although the home side scored four times with goals from Elliot Huggett, Tom Austin, Bradley Nutton and Tyler Cooper they had to settle for a point as strikes from Jack Hewitt, Matthew Brownridge, Daniel O’Malley and James Taylor earned Rastrick a 4-4 draw.

Kirkburton Under 14s grabbed three points at home to Batley Phoenix to reinforce their promotion challenge.

Callum Edinborough, Hollins, William Ainley and a Liam Haigh hat trick secured a 6-3 win for Kirkburton.

In Division IV of the Under 14s, Upperthong retained top spot with a solid victory at Collegians.

Nathan Joyce, Lewis Churm, Patrick Vaughan and an Alfie Higgins hat trick sealed a 6-3 win and a valuable three points.

Blake Corcoran scored for Collegians Under 15s but the Second Division strugglers were unable to match the strength of Linthwaite as the league leaders added another three points to their title challenge.

Conner Beaumont scored six times for the Colne Valley side which, added to goals from Jack Cooper, Ben Thornton and Elliot Ashmore, secured a 9-1 win for Linthwaite.
