THE Huddersfield FA Under 13 Minor Cup produced an 11-goal second round thriller at Laund Hill – First Division Meltham facing a tricky test against YMCA.

YMCA’s Lewis Fitzpatrick (2), Toby Womersley, Finley Brook and Jack Bulmer set a five-goal target which Meltham managed to beat by one goal with strikes from James Sunderland (4) and Jake Boyes (2).

Netherton were on the end of a home defeat to North Gawber in the Under 15 Minor Cup.

Sam Townend scored for the home side but replies from Oliver Roscoe, Joel Dixon (2) and a Joseph Kankm-Boadu hat trick sealed victory for the visitors.

In the League, Netherton Under 17s moved just one point behind the leaders with victory over Ossett Albion.

Albion netted twice but replies from Haigh, Vassallo and a Burchael hat trick sealed the three points for Netherton

Battyeford retained top spot in Division II of the Under 16s with a narrow 2-1 home win over Hebden Bridge Lions.

Connor Mackley and Jacob Mota Veiga were on target for the home side.

Kirkheaton stay right on the heels of the Division III leaders following their emphatic victory at Gomersal in the Under 14s.

Leon Bould and James Hickey found the net for Gomersal but promotion-chasing Kirkheaton replied with goals from Luke Thomas (4), Dymond (3), Lockwood, Nathan Swift and Longley for a 10-2 win.
