FOR the first time this season, a large number of games were postponed in the RCD Junior League because of waterlogged pitches.

Of the games that survived, Skelmanthorpe Under 11s pulled off a narrow victory over Cumberworth to keep their Division IV promotion hopes alive.

Caleb O’Neill, Morgan Lecomber and Joe Roberts were on target as Skelmanthorpe won 3-2.

In the Under 12s, Drighlington remain unbeaten at the top of Division III following their victory over Upperthong.

Upperthong have shown steady improvement throughout the season but they were unable to find the net on this occasion as George Taylor (2), Ryan Surman and Lewis Oldfield secured a 4-0 win for Drighlington.

In the same division, Lepton Highlanders’ victory over second-placed Battyeford keeps them among the leading group.

Battyeford found the net no fewer than five times but it was still not enough to deny the Highlanders, who grabbed a 7-5 victory with goals from Alex Harrower (2), Daniel Paxman, Jacob Mulhall, Hodgett, Alex Wilson and an own goal.

Meltham Under 12s came close to losing their unbeaten tag when they were held to a draw by Hall Green United.

Liam Sweeney scored twice as second from bottom Hall Green pushed the Fourth Division leaders all the way, but a double reply from Caleb Denniss levelled the game to make it 11 games without defeat for Meltham.
