TOWN Ladies Under 12s went on a goal spree as they hammered Nubian Ladies 26-1 in the Sheffield and Hallamshire League.
The goal glut in South Yorkshire started in the second minute when player of the match Eleanor Smith cut in from the right wing to claim her first goal of the season (she finished with four).
Scoring at regular intervals throughout the first half Town were 13-0 up by the turn.
And even though changes were made, the goal rush continued with a 13 more in the second half.
The enthusiastic and undaunted Sheffield- based Nubian team scored in the last minute for a well-earned earned consolation goal.
Town’s other scorers were Amy Broomhead (6), Faye Allen (3), Claudia Smith-Calvert (3), Jordyn Chasiak- Pratt (2), Olivia Bennett (2), Kacey Buckley (2), Rose Priestley (2), Laura Walker and, with her first goal of the season, Rhianna Finch.
Nubian Ladies face a daunting return match with Town at Grange Moor on Saturday (11.00).
The first team’s Northern Women’s Combination clash with leaders Sheffield Wednesday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Canalside.
They have no game this weekend.
The reserves were 3-1 derby winners at Hepworth United to progress to the last eight of the West Riding Women’s League Cup.
Shauna Messenger, Charlotte Thomas and Emma Sanford netted.
Town will now face Silsden Ladies, who won 3-2 at Farsley.
While the reserves are without a game this weekend, the Under 16s take on West Riding League leaders Wigton Moor at Grange Moor on Sunday (10.30).
