TOWN Ladies Under 12s were back among the goals in their latest Sheffield and Hallamshire Girls League clash.
They defeated Nubian Ladies 13-1 at Grange Moor – a week after a 26-1 victory over the same side in Sheffield.
That left them second in Division II, nine points behind leaders Wickersley Youth with two games in hand, ahead of Saturday’s trip to Sheffield side Socrates Girls (11.00).
Nubian came to Huddersfield with a great deal of determination and defended in numbers.
But they couldn’t stop Amy Broomhead scoring Town’s first goal after seven minutes, then notching again five minutes later.
Jordyn Chasiak-Pratt finished well from just inside the area after 17 minutes and captain Laura Walker turned home an Eleanor Smith corner three minutes later.
Smith made the scoresheet before Broomhead completed her hat trick in the 22nd minute, and defender Rose Priestley made it seven by half-time.
Town made changes for the second half but continued to press and Olivia Bennett netted three minutes in.
Ella Knight scored her first goal of the campaign with a cool finish two minutes later and Bennett got her second of the game when she turned home a corner.
Player of the match Holly Walsh scored her first this season when she followed up well to tuck the ball home after it rebounded off the Nubian keeper.
Faye Allen and Walker scored further goals for Town before Nubian broke clear and claimed a well-deserved consolation.
The Under 14s, who top the Sheffield and Hallamshire First Division, didn’t have a game last weekend but head to Handsworth on Saturday (11.00).
The Under 16s, whose West Riding League Girls League clash at home to Wigton Moor was postponed, have a derby at Brighouse Juniors on Sunday (11.00).
Town’s first team are in Northern Women’s Combination action against Stockport County at Canalside on Sunday (2.00).
