TOWN Ladies crashed out of the FA Women's Cup.

They were outplayed by a strong Newcastle United side who won 7-2 on Tyneside.

The Premier League North team were matched for the first half hour, even though they scored after only five minutes.

Within two minutes, Town were back on level terms when a free-kick by Kirsty McCluskey was dropped by the goalkeeper and Sarah Kennerdale netted.

The game swung after half an hour, when Newcastle rattled in three goals in nine minutes.

Town upped the tempo at the start of the second half, but were unable to reduce the arrears.

Newcastle added a fifth after an hour and soon after Lindsay McCubbin completed a hat trick.

Jade Robshaw scored a late consolation for Town, but the last word went to Newcastle.

Town return to North East Premier League action at leaders Hull City on Sunday.

The Under 14s went down 11-0 at Sheffield United.
