ELLAND’s chase for the Division 4A Under 13 title suffered a dent when they lost 1-0 at home to derby rivals Greetland at Hullen Edge.

Newcomers Greetland have suffered a shaky start to the season, but derby matches often turn the form book upside down and this game was no exception.

Greetland always looked the more dangerous going forward but, as the score suggests, there was little to choose between the sides until Johnny Lamb found a way through the Elland rearguard to fire home the winning goal.

This was a serious blow to Elland’s title hopes and they now sit six points behind leaders Meltham.

Elsewhere, it was County Cup day for many RCD League sides.

Title-chasing Honley enjoyed a comfortable home win over Kings Park in the Under 12 County Junior Shield competition.

The Bradford side were unable to find an answer as Sam Ratcliffe (2), Matthew Gardner (2), Robbie Peto (2), Chris Melotte, Elliot Kilner and Joseph Martin gave Honley a comfortable 9-0 passage into the third round.

In the same age group, Second Division Collegians enjoyed a 2-0 home success when Kippax Athletic were unable to find a reply to goals from Sam McGuire and Joseph Wimpenny.

Another Division II side going into the hat for the third round draw are are Dalton Dynamoes.

Lee Hallas, Alexander Graydon and Herve Landin all found the net as Dalton ran out 3-1 winners over Wyke Wanderers.

And Dalton’s older clubmates also made progress in the Under 14 County Junior Trophy when Johnson, Hall, Thomas, Brennan and Hollingworth were all on target in a 5-1 win over Wortley.

Also in the Under 14s, First Division Lepton Highlanders will be hoping for a solid cup run and goals from Bond, McKenna, Burke and McGivern were enough to ensure a 4-0 victory over Elland.

In the Under 16s, Liversedge maintained their 100% record with a 5-4 extra-time win at Hartshead to give them a place in the last 32 of the County Junior Cup.
