TOWN’S League I promotion rivals Colchester United have signed experienced French defender Franck Queudrue on loan from Premier League Birmingham City.

The former Lens, Middlesbrough, Fulham and France B international, 31, joins the U’s until the end of the season.

"He’ll improve us a lot and it’s a coup for the club," said Colchester boss Aidy Boothroyd, the former Town player.

"I had offers from other clubs but they were mid-table and I wanted to have something to play for so this is perfect," said Queudrue.

The Parisian has spent almost a decade in English football since being signed by Steve McClaren for Boro from Lens, initially on loan, in October 2001.

Leeds have completed the signing of Arsenal teenager Sanchez Watt.

The 19-year-old goes straight into Simon Grayson’s squad for tomorrow’s clash at Norwich.

Grayson said: "Sanchez is a good, young prospect who Arsenal think highly of."

Leeds have loaned winger Andy Robinson to Tranmere, who have also signed Chelsea defender Ben Gordon.

Rovers boss Les Parry said: "Ben is a talented defender and Andy is a classy player."

Millwall striker Lewis Grabban has crossed London to join Brentford.

Leyton Orient landed Doncaster midfielder John Spicer.

The 26-year-old, at Rovers since 2008, has played 58 games for Sean O’Driscoll’s side.

Romford-born Spicer, who started his career with Arsenal, joined Bournemouth in 2004 before playing for Burnley.
