Lee Peltier has taken the No37 shirt for Huddersfield Town this season – because he did well in it for Nottingham Forest on loan last term.
The 27-year-old Liverpudlian has returned to the John Smith’s Stadium on a free transfer, three years after he left for Leicester City, and is one of two key arrivals into the squad so far.
Peltier made 63 appearances for Leeds but was loaned out by former manager Brian McDermott last term to Forest, where he played seven times with No37 on his back.
Town beat Forest and a string of other clubs to his signature on a three-year contract and he has now joined his new colleagues on the PPG Canalside training pitch for the first time.
The other new face in the squad, goalkeeper Joe Murphy from Coventry City, has taken the No 13 shirt as he starts his second stint working under manager Mark Robins.
At the heart of defence, Anthony Gerrard has taken No5 after being No39 last term, while Duane Holmes, Jordan Sinnott and Matt Crooks have moved up the pecking order with No19, No20 and No22 respectively.
Former Manchester City striker Harry Bunn, who has just signed a one-year contract with the club, will be No30.
There are, however, no players assigned to the number two and number 10 shirts. Numbers 16 and 17 also remain vacant.
