AS Town hunt three wins on the bounce for the first time in almost a year against Chesterfield, skipper Jon Worthington vowed: "Now we can start climbing."

Worthington bagged the first goal in Town's superb 2-1 away win at Bournemouth which was sealed by Danny Schofield to push Peter Jackson's side up to 11th with only their third back-to-back success of the campaign.

A fifth away win moved Town above rivals Bradford, with home games against Chesterfield and Gillingham to come, and while they remain 10 points off the play-off places, Worthington is very positive.

"It was a big win for us on the south coast and if you get back-to-back wins you soon start moving up the table.

"We will be looking to continue this vein of form and take it into these two home games."

Delighted manager Peter Jackson said it was an excellent win and confirmed there would be player-movement in and out of the club this transfer-window week.

Worthington paid tribute to the coolness of substitute Schofield whose fourth goal of the season came six minutes from time.

He said: "In that position and at that stage of the game it couldn't have fallen to a better person than Danny.

"He's got a very cool head and he's a good finisher and, once he got through, all the lads would have backed him to score."

Jackson, who went 4-4-2 with Andy Booth and Luke Beckett up front, was especially pleased with how his side came out of the blocks.

"I thought the first half hour was the best we've played away from home all season and we thoroughly deserved our lead," he said. "We totally outplayed Bournemouth and could have been more up.

"We started very positively, in contrast to the games against Doncaster and Yeovil, when we conceded inside nine and five minutes and never managed to get an early foothold.

"But I felt we defended well on Saturday, except for the last 15 minutes of the first half when we began to sit back too deep and allowed them back into the game. That was disappointing but the lads picked themselves up and got three vital points.

"Worthington was a concern for us before the game but he pulled through and got a great goal, and it's always nice when your substitute comes off the bench and scores and I'm delighted for Danny, it was a vital goal for us, from a fabulous pass from Luke Beckett.

"I'd said the game was all about winning, a draw was no good, and now with two home games coming up, who knows what the table will look like in a fortnight?"
