PETER JACKSON today insisted his young squad can cope with the high expectations of Galpharm supporters.

Some sections booed a frustrating display against Southend.

"We have set ourselves very high standards and when we don't meet them we get criticised," he said.

"It's disappointing but you come to expect it and it's part of the players' job to take it on the chin and make sure they don't get booed off next week.

"My young players are excellent, the squad are solid together and I can't ask more than what they are giving me at the moment.

"I'm proud of them and if some people boo, they boo.

"But I know the majority of our crowd are right behind me and my young side."

Championship scouts from Leeds, Southampton, Sheffield United, Ipswich and Cardiff were in the crowd as Jackson welcomed back substitute Martin McIntosh and another run-out for fellow injury victim Adnan Ahmed.

"Those two will obviously add to our selection options and I'm delighted to have them both back," he said.

"We've got a schedule of something like eight games in 20 days coming up and all my squad will be used."
