Huddersfield Town entertain SkyBet Championship table-toppers Brighton and Hove Albion tonight in what should be a mouthwatering clash in front of the SKY TV cameras.

Another bumper crowd is expected with the game also seeing the return of the iconic Leeds Road Cowshed to matchdays.

Chris Hughton's Brighton side travel to the John Smith's Stadium looking to get back to winning ways after a shock FA Cup defeat at the hands of non-league Lincoln City at the weekend.

However, there was no such problems for David Wagner's side, who go into the fixture buoyed by an impressive 4-0 Fourth Round FA Cup victory over Rochdale.

Bringing you all the pre-match news and extensive match comment and analysis is Blake Welton with expert opinion as ever from Doug Thomson – so you won't miss a thing!

Signing Out

Well that’s it for tonight’s LIVE Blog in what has been a sensational night at the John Smith’s Stadium - David Wagner’s men have not only put on a show for the live SKY TV cameras this evening but put down a marker to the rest of the SkyBet Championship as well.

This display sets things up nicely for the West Yorkshire derby at home to fellow promotion-chasing Leeds United on Sunday lunchtime.

It’s sure to be a white-hot atmosphere and as ever Doug and I will be on hand to bring you full, comprehensive matchday coverage.

Until then, keep following the Examiner website, the Examiner Town Facebook page and @ExaminerHTAFC for all the latest Town news, views and opinion.

FT: Huddersfield Town 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 1

The referee blows for full-time in what has been a simply sensational performance from David Wagner’s men - they have completely humiliated table-toppers Brighton & Hove Albion tonight.

Man of the Match

The Official Man of the Match has just been announced as Aaron Mooy - only gripe for me tonight, should have been Rajiv van La Parra. Not disrespect to Aaron but the Dutchman was sensational!

Attendance

The official attendance has been announced as 20, 104 (776 making the long trip up from the South Coast)

Added Time

The referee indicates another four minutes to be added on at the end of this game - still time for me to earn that chocolate bar!!! C’mon Collin!!

Tipped Over!!

89 Minutes: After his partner had a baby boy earlier in the week, Kasey Palmer nearly celebrates in spectacular fashion - gliding past three before forcing David Stockdale into another great save!

86 Minutes

If you’re just tuning in - where have you been? This has been an EPIC performance from David Wagner’s men and it currently stands at Huddersfield Town 3 Brighton & Hove Albion 1!!

I’ve got a chocolate bar bet on that Big Col will score a fourth for Huddersfield Town....

Substitution

82 Minutes: Collin Quaner replaces Nahki Wells for his home (as well as league) debut.

  • Share

Post!!!

80 Minutes: Aaron Mooy finds himself in acres of space and with the crowd urging him on to shoot he duly obliges - and hits the post from 25 yards out. This is awesome stuff tonight folk!

  • Share

Substitution

77 Minutes: Joe Lolley replaces Rajiv van La Parra - the Dutchman has put in a Man of a Match performance this evening.

  • Share

Commanding

75 Minutes: Danny Ward commands his area well, coming out to claim a Brighton cross and quickly releasing the ball - Town quickly move the ball upfield and Kasey Palmer’s eventual shot is saved by Stockdale.

Izzy Brown Is Down

71 Minutes: Izzy Brown has struggled to shake off his knock from Dunk’s challenge which led to the player’s dismissal. Still, not a bad replacement in Kasey Palmer to come on eh?

He's Off!!!

66 Minutes: Lewis Dunk goes straight through the back of Izzy Brown inside Town’s half for a free-kick to Town - what’s more, it’s the defender’s second booking of the game and he’s off!!

  • Share

Substitutions

63 Minutes: The final substitutions for Brighton see Jamie Murphy and Tomer Hemed replaced by Solly March and Chuba Akpom.

  • Share

No Let Up!

62 Minutes: An unbelievable touch and pass from Mooy to finds Nahki Wells but he drags his shot wide. Although 3-1 up Town are looking the more likely to get another goal BUT a goal for the Seagulls could see the John Smith’s faithful become a little edgy. It’s finely poised here.

Lovely Play!

56 Minutes: That man Rajiv van La Parra is denied by another great save from Brighton stopper Stockdale - the Dutchman creating the chance for himself after a great run from the half way line!

  • Share

Good Effort

50 Minutes: The second half has not started with the same intensity as the first 45 minutes but Town still on top as van La Parra tries to curl an effort from 20 yards out which is well wide.

  • Share

Break In Play

48 Minutes: Elias Kachunga is down after a hefty challenge - he looks OK to continue though.

  • Share

Booking

In all the excitement at the end of the first-half, I missed a booking - Elias Kachunga booked for a foul on the Kayal.

  • Share

Substitution

46 Minutes: Steven Sidwell is on for Beram Kayal for the second 45 minutes.

Teams Are Out

Both sides come back onto the pitch after half-time and there looks like there is a second-half change for the visitors....
