Ben Chilwell is already showing the form that made Huddersfield Town so keen to snap up his services on loan - and now he’s caught the eye at Liverpool and Arsenal.
Both Premier League sides had scouts at St Andrew’s watching the young left back help Town to a first win of David Wagner’s tenure.
The Telegraph reports that the Gunners have already had a bid rejected for the Leicester City youngster, on loan at Huddersfield until January 3 , and now Jurgen Klopp is ready to enter the race for his signature next summer.
Wagner, who is close to Klopp after the pair worked together at Borussia Dortmund, handed Chilwell his professional league debut against Middlesbrough last month and was clearly impressed with what he saw.
Ben kept his place for the trip to Birmingham, ahead of senior Australian international Jason Davidson.
He was justly rewarded with a fine performance, and Chilwell was named in WhoScored’s Championship Team of the Week after a committed display in the Midlands.
Klopp is now said to be keeping close tabs on the defender, who has also been linked with Manchester United.
Captain of the England u20s side, Chilwell has also represented his country at u18 and u19 level, and was recently called up to the u21s squad.
Speaking about the step up to Championship football after playing u21 football with the Foxes, Ben said: “It’s very different.
“It’s a lot more physical, and the desire to win is miles higher. At the end of the day, it is about players’ livelihoods.
“It’s an environment in which winning is everything, and it’s something I need to experience as part of my development.”
Leicester are reportedly ready to offer Chilwell a new contract to keep him at the King Power Stadium.
