Liverpool will be backed by a sell-out away end when they visit Huddersfield Town .

Demand continues to soar for the prestigious pre-season friendly at the John Smith’s Stadium on Wednesday July 20.

Reds fans have snapped up their allocation of 3,829 tickets and between them the two clubs have breached the 16,500 mark.

And that has led to Town taking the decision to open the Britannia Rescue Stand for the friendly clash.

The plan is for fans to be able to pay on the gate, but every stand is operating an unreserved seating policy so the club are recommending to buy in advance - either online or at the ticket office.

Jurgen Klopp is expected to bring a stand-out squad from Anfield as he prepares for the new Premier League season, while Town fans will have a chance to see a host of summer signings in acion.

Danny Ward’s loan from Liverpool has now been confirmed as David Wagner’s 11th senior signing of the season, but he will miss the encounter with his parent club due to being given time off following Wales’ exploits at Euro 2016.

However, the likes of Aaron Mooy, Jack Payne, Michael Hefele and record signing Christopher Schindler are all expected to feature, while Town are hoping to tie up a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer.

Town visit Oldham Athletic on Saturday, July 16, before the Liverpool clash.
