ANTHONY LLOYD is joining Torquay on loan with a view to a permanent transfer.

The 21-year-old left-back has been unable to force his way into Peter Jackson's League I line-up this season and has been looking for a move.

He will join up with the League II strugglers tomorrow and will make his debut in their FA Cup first-round tie against Harrogate Town at Plainmoor on Saturday.

Town have also given permission for loan striker Junior Mendes to play in the FA Cup for Northampton at Wycombe on Saturday.

"Lloydy hasn't figured much with Danny Adams coming in and doing so well, so this is an opportunity for him to play League football again," said Jackson today.

"With his contract being up at the end of this season, it's a chance for Lloydy to go down there and earn himself a deal and, if he can get fixed up, then great.

"He's a terrific lad with a brilliant attitude and he's keen to do well, it's just that he can't force his way into my team at the moment."

Lloyd, who played in the play-off final victory against Mansfield, has 43 League appearances to his name but his only start this season was in the LDV defeat at Boston.

Meanwhile, Summer signings Martin McIntosh, Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Mark Hudson are guests of the Patrons Association tomorrow night (8.00).

They will feature in the first half of the meeting in the Panasonic Suite and, after half time, former Town director and secretary Alan Sykes will talk about his career in the game.

* Town Juniors will play Burscough in the FA Youth Cup first round next Tuesday at the Galpharm (7.00).
