Versatile Huddersfield Town player Matt Crooks will aim to follow up a solid loan debut for Accrington Stanley at home to Exeter City on Friday.

The 20-year-old Town academy product played 79 minutes of Saturday’s 2-1 home win over Cambridge United.

It’s a second League Two stint of the season for Crooks, who made three appearances for Hartlepool United.

He made his Town debut in the 4-0 home Championship defeat by AFC Bournemouth on the opening day of the season.

Accrington, managed by John Coleman, are 12th in League Two.

Town striker Martin Paterson made a second Fleetwood Town appearance in their 1-0 home defeat by Walsall.

Elsewhere in League One, fellow John Smith’s Stadium frontman Jon Stead played a seventh loan game for Bradford City as they drew 1-1 at home to Gillingham.
