HUDDERSFIELD Town Ladies’ reserves team hit the goal trail with a 7-1 win over Oulton.

Jodie Brinkworth opened the scoring and Jo Atkinson added a second, before Brinkworth scored again and Raegan Cartledge hit a fourth before half-time. New signing Kelsey Byrne scored the fifth and sixth goals and substitute Kate Mallin completed the scoring.

Town’s Under 16 side moved six points clear at the top of the West Riding Girls League Division I with a 3-2 win at Normanton. Town’s goals were scored by Merita Prebresova, Alethia Smith and Hattie Richards, with Emma Sanford voted player of the match.

Amy Thompson hit a hat trick for the Under 12 team but they were beaten 6-3 at home by Horsforth St Margaret’s, with Paris Shingleton awarded player of the match.

The first team are in action on Sunday away to Chesterfield Ladies in the first round of the Sheffield and Hallamshire Women’s County Cup (12.30).

The reserves also play on Sunday away to Rothwell Ladies (2.00), the Under 16 side are at home at Grange Moor to Thornes Juniors on Sunday (11.00), the Under 14 team play tomorrow at home (Grange Moor) to Oakworth (9.30) and the Under 12 side travel to Horsforth St Margaret’s tomorrow (10.30).
