LUKAS JUTKIEWICZ has been ‘adopted’ by Town’s band of scousers.
The 19-year-old striker, who has been signed on loan from Everton, travels in to training with Ian Craney, Gary Roberts and Phil Jevons.
“Lukas has been training with us for a couple of weeks now and the Scousers are looking after him!” smiled Craney.
“He is a smashing lad and he’ll do a good job for the team.
“Lukas has shown he can bring people into the game, he’s good in the air and he gives us a physical presence up front, which is something we’ve probably been missing lately.
“He adds something a little bit different to the squad and he’ll get better by the game.”
Craney praised manager Lee Clark and his staff for adding Jutkiewicz and Anthony Tehoue towards the end of the transfer window after capturing Dominik Werling and Lee Novak earlier in January.
“The whole set-up here is very professional and credit to the gaffer and his team – they are a Premiership staff in my opinion,” he said.
“When I was at Swansea it was very well run, but this is great, everything is set up for the club to be in at least the Championship and everything bodes well for the future.”
