LUKAS JUTKIEWICZ will get better and better in his time with Town.

That’s the verdict of Galpharm manager Lee Clark, who is ready to throw the 19-year-old loan signing into a second straight match against Crewe at Gresty Road on Saturday.

Jutkiewicz will be trying to notch his first Town goal against Everton teammate John Ruddy, the keeper who is on loan with Gudjon Thordarson’s second bottom side.

And Clark said: “Lukas will have benefited a hell of a lot from playing in the victory against Leeds.

“It was great for his fitness levels and his knowledge of playing with the lads, and everything will move on from here.

“He’s a very willing worker for the team, wants to learn and to play, and he will only get better.”

Clark’s preparations for Saturday’s trip have been lifted by the successful return to training of both Gary Roberts (groin) and wingman Lionel Ainsworth (thigh), and the manager confirmed they are both available for selection.

“The lads are in great heart, very positive and we are focusing our attention on how we can win the game over at Crewe,” he said.

Crewe have a major doubt over striker Clayton Donaldson, who suffered a knee injury in the 1-0 win at Southend on Tuesday, and he could be replaced by Calvin Zola.
