Huddersfield Town were unceremoniously dumped out of the EFL Cup two weeks ago by Shrewsbury Town, leaving midweek eerily open for Terriers fans.

David Wagner has given his players some time off following the flying start to the league season and now you too have some time off the Town rollercoaster.

But if you can't wait to watch Town play Wolves this weekend and you need to fill more days with the beautiful game, we've got you covered.

Here are our top five EFL Cup games to keep an eye on this week.

Sunderland v Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury bested Town in the EFL Cup first round and now Salop are off to the Stadium of Light to face David Moyes' Sunderland on Wednesday.

The Shrews were knocked out of the 2014 League Cup by Chelsea at the round of 16 stage and Premier League outfit Crystal Palace beat them in the second round last year.

But if you're a fan of giant-killings then Shrewsbury are for you.

The Town have knocked Blackburn Rovers, Norwich City, Derby County, Swansea City and last year's Premier League winners Leicester out of the cup in the last five years as well as claiming the scalps of Cardiff, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham in the FA Cup.

The Shrews currently sit 20th in League One with the Black Cats 18th and without a point in the Premier League.

Odds after 90 mins:

Sunderland: 2/5

Draw: 18/5

Shrewsbury: 7/1

Luton Town v Leeds United

Leeds United travel to Luton on Tuesday to face the side which knocked out top-seeded Aston Villa in the first stage.

The Whites scraped past Fleetwood in the last round, beating Jamie Vardy's former club 5-4 on penalties.

Leeds have struggled to find their form in their opening fixtures, losing two, drawing one and claiming a solitary win in their first four league matches, leaving them 19th in the Championship.

Luton on the other hand sit third in League Two, taking 7 points from their first four games.

The Hatters were beaten last time out away at bogey-team Stevenage, but Luton are unbeaten in five home matches and their passionate fans will push their side all the way against Garry Monk's team.

Odds after 90 mins:

Luton: 2/1

Draw: 12/5

Leeds: 13/10

Burton Albion v Liverpool

Championship new boys Burton Albion are rewarded for their first round 3-2 victory over Bury with the visit of Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool.

The Reds have not been knocked out in the second round of the League Cup since 1978-79, when Sheffield United beat Bopb Paisley's side 1-0 at Bramall Lane.

That second round defeat has been followed by eight League Cup wins, three runners-up awards and four semi-final appearances.

Liverpool were beaten in the final last year on penalties by Manchester City, while Burton were knocked out in the second round by Middlesbrough.

It may not be plain sailing for Liverpool however, as Burton have claimed victories over Leicester and QPR in recent years in the League Cup - a competition which the Brewers have preferred to the FA Cup.

This match is being shown live on Sky Sports 1 with kick off at 7.45pm.

Odds after 90 mins:

Burton Albion: 7/1

Draw: 19/5

Liverpool: 4/11

Fulham v Middlesbrough

Promoted Middlesbrough travel to Fulham on Wednesday after qualifying for a bye in the first round of the competition.

Boro did well in last year's competition, eventually being knocked out in the quarter-finals by Everton after beating Manchester United, Wolves, Burton and Oldham Athletic.

Aitor Karanka's side are also undefeated in the Premier League this season, picking up a point against Stoke and beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

In last year's EFL Cup competition, Fulham beat Wycombe Wanderers and Sheffield United before being dumped out by Premier League outfit Stoke City.

The sides will face each other at Craven Cottage on Wednesday in what could be the closest-fought match of the round.

Just 19 spots in the Football League ladder separate the sides, making it the third-closest drawn tie - only Preston v Oldham (14) and Reading v MK Dons (10) are closer in the league.

Odds after 90 mins:

Fulham: 21/1

Draw: 19/5

Middlesbrough: 5/4

Accrington Stanley v Burnley

The second TV game Sky are showing is the Lancashire derby between Accrington Stanley and Burnley.

What may surprise you is that an Accrington side have actually beaten Burnley more times than the other way round - although it wasn't Stanley.

Accrington FC, one of the founding members of the football league, last played Burnley in January 1893, losing 4-0 on their way to relegation from the Football League in its fifth season.

Instead of carrying on in the Second Division, Accrington resigned from the league all together and eventually folded in 1896 following financial difficulties.

Accrington Stanley then took over the Football League mantle in the 1920s, but dissolved in 1966 after four seasons out of the league ladder.

'The Club that Wouldn't Die' reformed in 1968 and eventually made it back into the Football League in 2006.

Their record in the Football League Cup has been poor in recent years, making it into the second round once in the last six seasons.

Burnley's last real EFL Cup run came in 2009, when they were knocked out in the semi-finals by Tottenham after two legs and extra time.

The Lancashire derby is being shown on Sky Sports 1 at 7.45pm on Wednesday.

Odds after 90 mins:

Accrington Stanley: 19/5

Draw: 19/5

Burnley: 3/4
