Huddersfield Town's Mathias 'Zanka' Jorgensen has delivered an early Christmas present to supporters - by offering them free drinks.

Calling himself 'Zanka Claus', the defender took to Twitter last night to thank fans for their 'amazing' support which has helped the side so far claim 21 points from 18 games in their inaugural Premier League campaign.

Much has been made of Town's incredible support both home and away this season with the Dane deciding to show his appreciation with the festive gesture.

It means any supporter who makes the 472-mile round trip to Southampton this weekend will received a voucher as they enter St Mary's Stadium.

This can then be redeemed for a drink at Town's following home match against Stoke City on Boxing Day.

And with the club given an allocation of 2,596 for the South Coast encounter, it could end up costing the Danish international more than £8,000 should each fan take up the offer and purchase a beer at a cost of £3.20.

On the announcement, social media went into meltdown with fans bowled over with the Dane's generosity – here's the best of the reaction to #ZankaClaus...
