PORTSMOUTH could move for under-pressure Rangers boss Alex McLeish - if their bid for former Town chief Neil Warnock falls through.
Fratton Park chief Milan Mandaric has made no secret of his admiration of Sheffield United's Warnock.
But with permission to talk yet to be granted by the Blades, Mandaric has approached Ibrox.
Having guided Rangers to the Scottish title last season, McLeish has endured a torrid domestic season.
But he could still take the Gers into the knockout stage of the Champions League.
Warnock has guided the Blades to second place in the Championship but is out of contract in the summer.
He has insisted he will still be in charge for Saturday's derby against Sheffield Wednesday.
