KEN DAVY today spelled out what his offer to Adam Pearson would mean for Town’s future.

It includes an input of around £1.7m being put straight into team building and a pound-for-pound investment scheme if Pearson takes 40% of the club.

The Town owner and chairman has received an offer to buy outright from former Hull City chief Pearson but has, instead, offered a partnership to help take the League I outfit forward.

Pearson has stated he wants a controlling majority shareholding and will leave his offer to buy the club on the table.

Today, Davy said he would be getting back in touch with the Wetherby-based businessman and has put a seven-day cut-off on potential talks.

“I am sorry to note from Adam’s comments to the media that it looks as if he has misunderstood my proposition,” said Mr Davy today.

“Firstly, as chairman he would be in charge of Huddersfield Town and holding 40% of the shares.

“I am sure he is aware it is not unusual for the chairman to own less than 50% of any company’s shares.

“The £1.7m of new money would go directly into Huddersfield Town to fund squad strengthening which, I understood, was his objective going forward.

“I would continue to support him by putting £60,000 into Huddersfield Town for every £40,000 additional cash which Adam puts in.

“I believe, therefore, my offer represented a very positive response to Adam’s approach and I am happy to leave it open for the next seven days.

“After that, I will consider this saga closed as we all need to get back to focusing our energies on getting Town back to winning ways.”

Pearson has not indicated he will consider a partnership without a controlling interest.

“My very generous offer to buy the club, as it was put in three weeks ago, will remain on the table,” said Pearson.

“That’s my best offer.

“The club is not worth anywhere near what I have offered, so I am not going to increase it.”

Pearson (inset) refused to disclose the exact amount of his bid.

“It’s a significant offer, especially as there are few assets in the company and it’s losing money. It would be a very generous offer if it was making a profit.

“That offer will remain on the table, that’s all I can say.”

Fans will be eagerly awaiting potential developments as manager Andy Ritchie prepares to take his side to Doncaster on Sunday (4.00).

Town have striker Danny Cadamarteri back after suspension as defender Frank Sinclair serves a ban following his sending-off in the 4-0 defeat at Walsall.

Cadamarteri has been playing a full part in training and Ritchie has also welcomed back Chris Brandon, who missed the trip to the Midlands last weekend because of an ankle injury.

Danny Schofield is also in the reckoning to face his hometown club after playing for the Reserves at Coventry on Monday night and coming through unscathed.

Cadamarteri seems certain to play at the Keepmoat – it’s a live screening on Sky TV – and the manager will choose between Luke Beckett and Andy Booth alongside him as Town bid to improve on 14th place in the table.
