TOWN Ladies reached the third round of the FA Women's Cup after a thrilling penalty shoot-out against Morley Spurs.
Goalkeeper Lindsay Scarfe was Town's heroine with a string of fine saves as the tie finished 0-0 after extra-time.
In the shoot-out, Morley missed their first kick before 15-year-old Becky Catling set the standard for Town with a low, hard strike.
When Morley also missed their second, Town pressed home their advantage with successful efforts by Andrea Haigh and Jade Robshaw before 17-year-old Mel Sherwood notched the fourth to clinch a 4-2 success and send Town into a third-round tie at Premier North Newcastle United on Sunday, December 4.
Town went into the tie full of confidence after a series of impressive wins.
But despite creating a couple of early chances, it was Morley who held much of the territorial advantage in the game.
Claire Hesslewood was in commanding form at the back, however, and Scarfe was truly outstanding, with a twisting save on the final whistle and three more in extra time.
The Reserves went down 5-1 at Howden Clough with Michaela Jessop the scorer.
The Under 14s lost to league champions Leeds United.
The Under 12s continued their impressive form with a 4-1 win at Doncaster Belles through Rebekah Longstaff (2), Rachael Lockwood and an own goal.
