MY FAMILY and I were dismayed to hear the booing aimed at a certain Town player at last Saturday’s Cheltenham game.

It appeared to come mainly from the singing section which mostly consists of young people.

What good is it supposed to do? Would any one of them like to be on the receiving end?

It certainly won’t give confidence and merely adds to the pressure the player is under.

We believe booing never achieves anything but if it is done at the end of a poor team performance then better than at an individual who is definitely not making the odd slip-up on purpose.

No-one is perfect. Witness footballers at the highest level.

To those who boo, think more deeply and get behind the players.

Winning the first two games gave rise to high expectations, but it is still early in the season.
