LEE CLARK is set for a major Town squad reshuffle after making eight players available for transfer.

Former Republic of Ireland Under 21 midfield pair Michael Collins, who has made 197 Town appearances, and James Berrett are joined by England junior international keeper Simon Eastwood, defenders Joe Skarz and Andy Butler, midfielder Jim Goodwin, winger Lionel Ainsworth and striker Tom Denton on the list of players who are under contract but on offer to other clubs.

Town boss Lee Clark, whose side’s League I promotion hopes were ended by the play-off semi-final defeat at Millwall a week ago, is also willing to let Robbie Simpson, the striker he signed from Coventry last July, go out on loan.

“We’re looking to refresh the squad,” said Clark.

“Some of these lads went out on loan and others haven’t played as much as they would like this season.”

The development follows the announcement that Robbie Williams and Phil Jevons, whose contracts are about to end, will not be offered new deals, while talks with former Birmingham City defender Krystian Pearce are ongoing.

What do you think about the move? Is it the right thing to do you think some of the players made available should be kept by Town?
