INJURED Town star David Mirfin nursed his aching Achilles and bruised pride and vowed: "We will bounce back."

The 19-year-old is under intensive treatment in an effort to maintain his ever-present record against Luton at Kenilworth Road.

Mirfin watched in agony from the bench after being replaced by Efe Sodje on 56 minutes as Town lost out 2-1 to Torquay and admitted:

"We know we can play a lot better, but when we've had a bad result we've always bounced back and that's what we'll do now. Luton is exactly the sort of test we want after a result like this.

"It's probably the best game we could have had against the unbeaten League leaders and hopefully we will go down there and show them what we are made of."

Of his injury, Mirfin added: "I got a kick in the first five minutes and I was okay while I was running around.

"But as soon as we stopped for half time it stiffened up and I struggled to get my boot back on.

"I tried to get going in the second half but it was no good."
