Mustapha Carayol says enjoyment is key as Huddersfield Town aim to carry on climbing the Championship.

Chris Powell’s side are unbeaten in three and have won two of those games going into Saturday’s visit to Wolves.

The Molineux meeting is followed by the second international break of the campaign, then a trip to Ipswich Town on October 17.

Gambia international Carayol is set for a sixth Town outing since signing on loan from divisional rivals Middlesbrough.

And the 27-year-old, who scored his first goal for the club in the 4-1 home win over Bolton Wanderers, believes he can make a big contribution.

We’re a very solid unit at the minute but, like I say to the lads before every game, we have to go and enjoy it because when we do, we play our best football,” he said.

“Now we can kick on. I can’t see us going into any game fearing anyone, we just have to go and play and attack teams.”

Town showed character by fighting back from a goal down to draw with Nottingham Forest at the John Smith’s Stadium last time out.

“The first half hour we were on top, but we conceded a goal against the run of play,” he added.

“That happens in the Championship but I thought we responded well and getting the equaliser was the least we deserved.

“In the changing room we felt like we deserved to win but you take the point from being a goal down and look to the next game.

“Now we will try to get a win at Wolves before the international break.”

Carayol said of his own game: “The last few matches I have enjoyed my football.

“I got a good pre-season under my belt but I didn’t play much football before coming here.

“My first three starts have been the last three games and I’m building my match fitness and sharpness.

“Hopefully my performances will get better and I can get a few goals and assists for the team.

It’s going to be tough at Wolves and Ipswich but we have to fancy ourselves given the way we have played in the last three games.

“I think those games will suit us more because Forest sat deep and made it hard for us to break them down.

“Both Wolves and Ipswich will come out and play, leaving a lot of space for us to attack.”
