BRIGHOUSE Town is the place to be on Bank Holiday Monday for a massive Huddersfield derby.

They are staging the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division Cup final between Meltham Athletic and Bay Athletic (11am).

Neither side has ever won the Premier Division Cup, so a new name will go onto the trophy.

In fact, Storthes HallŠ(1996-97) are the only recent winners from Huddersfield, although Town Reserves did win the Cup in 1940-41 and again in 1942-43!

Meltham will go into the showpiece on the back of two cup finals, against Storthes Hall in the Huddersfield FA Challenge Cup (which they lost 2-1), and against Ovenden WR in the West Riding County FA Challenge Cup (tomorrow at Woodlesford).

Bay Athletic, who must be favourites to win the Premier Division championship this season, will be playing their third game of four in a eight-day period.

On Wednesday they entertain their closest rivals for the title, Ovenden WR.

The West Riding County Amateur League are seeking a fixture secretary for the 2009-10 season.

Experience with a computer ‘fixture scheduler’Šwould be an advantage, as the league will be using the FA full-time system for administration next season.

Suitable applicants should apply to The League General Secretary, Mr S Marsden, 28 Church View, Crigglestone, Wakefield, WF4 3PF.
