NEW teams Queen and Clifton Rangers have fared well.

Queen seem to be running away with Division II and Clifton are holding their own in third place.

Queen are run from the pub in Linthwaite, Manchester Road, and have a good blend of experienced and young players.

Father and son Robin and Jake Vickerman feature and, among the key players, are the veterans John and Dave Brennan.

The goals are spread right across the team, with Daniel Naidole being Queen’s top scorer.

Clifton have made the leap from RCD Junior League football into adult football and are starting to get to grips with the changes.

Pak Rangers are again looking formidable at the top of Division I, but Black Bull and Wellington A will make sure they don’t have it all there own way.

The only casualty of the season so far is the withdrawal of Division II side Woolpack (Almondbury) due to administration issues.

On the positive front, the League still have two sides remaining in the West Riding Sunday Trophy and Division I sides Wellington A and Inter Athletic carry the torch for the KSL into the last 16.

Wellington will play Apperley Bridge at home and Inter Athletic will host Delius.

In the Get Smart Group KSL Challenge Cup first round, the biggest shock in November was the incredible turnaround of Dalton against holders Wellington A.

Dalton were 5-1 down, but levelled at 5-5 in 90 minutes and went on to record a 6-5 victory in extra-time!

Finally, a special mention must go to the two sides at the bottom of each division – Marsh of Division I and Escorpians of Division II.

Despite having no points to date, both sides play the game in the right spirit and keep going despite of their positions.

Well done!
