TOWN are unable to recall striker Jon Newby for the sell-out trip to Hull City on Saturday week.

Manager Peter Jackson - who is without Andy Booth tomorrow and Pawel Abbott for the next three matches because of suspension - had intended to bring Newby back from his loan to York City and include him in the squad at the KC Stadium.

Newby's loan, however, doesn't finish until midnight on the 24th, so he can only be recalled for the final two matches against Mansfield at home (May 1) and down at Cheltenham the following Saturday.

"I gather Newbs played well for York against Bury the other night and it would have been convenient to bring him back for the Hull trip, but it's not to be," said Jackson.

"He will return for the final two matches because I want everyone possible available for the final push."

Meanwhile, midfielder Lee Fowler has had successful double hernia surgery.

It is his second operation in a few weeks after having an ankle joint `cleared out.'

"Lee is just looking forward to getting himself fully fit as quickly as he can," added the manager today.
