Oliver Norwood will be at the heart of Huddersfield Town’s team to face Guiseley at Nethermoor tonight.
Boss Mark Robins confirmed the 23-year-old Northern Ireland international will definitely start against the Conference North side, who conceded two late goals to lose to Leeds United on Saturday.
Norwood was not involved for Town on Saturday when they beat SC Portimonense 4-1 in Portugal with goals from Joe Lolley, Adam Clayton (penalty), James Vaughan and Markus Holgersson, the former Wigan Athletic defender who has not been offered a deal by the John Smith’s Stadium club.
Robins will include strikers Martin Paterson and Harry Bunn tonight, along with defenders Joel Lynch and Tommy Smith.
All four were substitutes in the win over Portimonense.
Guiseley have four new signings of their own on show tonight.
Bower – whose side open their Conference North season at Leamington – has taken 19-year-old former Bradford City player Jack Stockdale, former Halifax duo Danny Lowe and Ryan Toulson and Adam Boyes, a striker from Gateshead.
After tonight’s fuxture, Town travel to Scunthorpe on Saturday, to Sheffield United on Tuesday, July 29, to Oldham on Saturday, August 2, and then entertain Newcastle United on Tuesday, August 5.
