TOWN loan pair Joe Garner and Lee Croft have returned to their parent clubs Nottingham Forest and Derby County.

Both players’ Galpharm spells ended after yesterday’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday, but neither was involved.

Former Blackburn and Carlisle striker Garner, 22, made 10 starts and eight sub appearances.

Ex-Manchester City, Oldham and Norwich winger Croft, 25, made one start and five sub outings.

Boss Lee Clark, who has brought in midfielder Kevin Kilbane on loan from Hull, says he will talk to the board to see if fresh signings can be made.

“Both Forest and Derby have been informed of our decision not to try and extend the loans,” explained Clark. “Joe has made a contribution to several of our wins.

“But as a striker, you are judged on goals, and we need someone to take some of the burden off Jordan Rhodes.

“Lee couldn’t get to the level I know he is capable of having worked with him at Norwich, when his sensational form earned him a lucrative transfer to Derby. Unfortunately, it just hasn’t happened for him here.

“Both are terrific lads and terrific professionals and I wish them all the best in the future.”
