NATHAN CLARKE returned today and told manager Peter Jackson: "I'm ready to face Scunthorpe."
The 22-year-old returned after two matches dropped in last night's 2-0 friendly win at Bradford Park Avenue and confirmed he's gunning for a senior recall at the Galpharm on Saturday.
Clarke - whose late mistake cost Town their Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against Doncaster -said: "I've missed a couple of games and I needed the run-out, but now I'm itching to get back.
"I didn't feel right after the Doncaster game and with what happened to Tom (his brother, who is out for the season with cruciate damage) I missed a couple of days training, but it feels good to be back playing again.
"Hopefully, now, the manager will get my name down on Saturday because I want to be involved and I want to help us pick things up at home."
Of the error which lost him his place, Clarke added: "I felt I was doing okay in the game but bad passes can cost you a goal - that's the way it is in the position I play.
"I've put that behind me now, though, and while this season isn't the best I've been playing, I think I've done pretty well over the last four years and I'm really determined to get back to that top form."
