Huddersfield Town's summer signings will give them a better chance of competing at the top end of the Championship.

That's the verdict of the bookies, with odds of Town securing promotion dropping down to 8/1 with Sky Bet.

At the end of May, they were offering 9/1 on David Wagner's men playing Premier League football in 2017/18.

And the bookmakers clearly have more confident in Town than in their West Yorkshire rivals, Leeds United, who are priced at 11/1.

Town remain priced at 28/1 to win the division, but the odds of the club finishing in the top six have also fallen to 10/3 from 4/1 at the end of last month.

And the betting companies also believe the club's chances of relegation are receding.

Sky Bet were offering 11/2 on Town dropping into League One at the end of May, but that has now been adjusted to 15/2.

Leeds are priced at 9/2 for relegation.
