TOWN’S last two home matches have produced 4-0 victories and last week’s against Leyton Orient propelled Lee Clark’s side to the fringes of the play-off places.

However, it’s on the road that Town need to improve if they are to break into the top six, and a victory at Oldham on Sunday would be just the ticket.

The Latics, however, have lost just one in seven to edge closer to the play-offs themselves and accordingly they are Betfred’s slender 6/4 favourites while quote an away win at 17/10.

That said, the fact that the duo are just a point apart in the League I table could lead punters towards the draw; a result available at 12/5 with Betdaq.

That was the result of the pair’s last meeting at Boundary Park, in August 2008, and a repeat of the 1-1 scoreline from that one might attract cash at 11/2 (Ladbrokes).

The lure of the draw, meanwhile, could tempt some travelling fans into a wager at 1/2 with Sportingbet that covers both the stalemate and an away win.

Nevertheless, it’s only the second part of that dual wager that confident supporters will be forecasting and for them, Stan James post 10/1 against Clark’s charges finishing on the right side of a 2-1 scoreline.

Elsewhere, a match total of three or more goals is a generous 10/11 at Victor Chandler, Partybets make the Terriers 2/5 to contribute to that tally and the first of those successful strikes is 20/21 (Boylesports) to be scored by a Town player.

More specifically, Jordan Rhodes is 6/1, courtesy of bet365, to break the Boundary Park deadlock in a contest that is 7/2 at Partybets to produce more than 2.5 goals and end in victory for Town.
