HUDDERSFIELD Town striker Robbie Simpson has said he would be open to staying at Brentford when his loan deal expires.

The striker, who suffered a series of injuries in a stop-start first season at Town, has managed six goals in 13 starts since arriving at Griffin Park in the summer.

Simpson made just five starts in his first season with Town after arriving on a £300k deal from Coventry City and still has 18 months left on his contract.

However, the 25-year-old Loughborough University graduate has spoken in glowing terms of his time so far at Brentford.  Talking to the Hounslow Chronicle , he said: "When I joined in the summer the talk was of a season-long loan with a view to a permanent.

"The manager was keen to get me here and I wanted to come and see how I liked the club. So far so good to be honest.

"There's a great bunch of lads here, an ambitious young manager on his way up I believe, and the fans are great too.

"I like the set-up, the training ground and the stadium in it's own way."
