Huddersfield Town have appointed Paul Clements as their lead academy goalkeeping coach.

He succeeds Ian Bennett, now with Nottingham Forest, after three years at Wolves.

Clements previously worked for Middlesbrough and has helped trained Tunisia’s junior goalkeepers.

As well as being a level four goalkeeping coach, he is also a licensed FA tutor.

Town academy manager Mark Lillis said: “During the process of finding someone to take up this important role, Paul quickly became the outstanding candidate.

“Alongside his very impressive work so far, he shares the passion and drive we all have at our academy for developing young footballers.

“He’ll work closely with the our head of goalkeeping Nick Colgan and assistant academy goalkeeping coach Tom Weal to develop individual plans for our young goalkeepers through to the first team.”
