LANCASHIRE referee Paul Tierney will be in the middle for Town’s League I clash with Hartlepool at the Galpharm on Saturday.

It will be his ninth appointment of the season and first ever for a Town match after stepping up to Football League level in the summer following two campaigns in the Blue Square.

At Swindon on Tuesday, Andy Penn, of the West Midlands, will be in charge.

He has had 14 matches so far this term, and last took control of Town when they lost 4-0 at Peterborough last season.

While Chris Lucketti was sent off in that clash, Penn, a senior referee since 2002, he has averaged less than two yellow cards a game over the last two seasons.
