LEADING scorer Pawel Abbott is back in the Town frame after some sharp training stints.

The 11-goal striker was dropped against Welling in the FA Cup, featuring only as a substitute for the injured Chris Brandon.

Manager Peter Jackson confirmed today, however, that Abbott is pressing for a recall against Yeovil at Huish Park, especially with Brandon still struggling to overcome a knee problem.

"Pav has produced exactly the sort of response I was looking for," said Jackson today.

"He went on against Welling and might have scored a hat trick and he has looked very sharp in training all this week.

"By his own very high standards he had not performed like he knows he can in the previous few games, which is why I left him out, but his attitude has been superb this week and he is pushing his claims."

Jackson added: "I'm not going to reveal my team beforehand, but the starting line-up will obviously revolve around whether Brandon is fit or not."

That was looking more and more unlikely today with Brandon missing training, so Abbott could be primed to return up front alongside Andy Booth with the versatile Gary Taylor-Fletcher moving onto the right flank.

Yeovil could also have some changes, with Efe Sodje fit and pressing for a recall alongside debutant midfield man Chris Cohen, on loan from West Ham.

"Efe has been out with a knee injury and didn't get chance to play in their Reserves because it was called off, but he'll be desperate to play against us," said Jacko.

"He'll be very disappointed if he's not selected, but I would think the likelihood is he will be on the bench."

Meanwhile, Lee Fowler was in talks with Scarborough today about a month's loan at the Conference club, who are bottom before visiting lowly Tamworth on Saturday.

He had been due to return from a knee injury in next Tuesday's Reserves' friendly at Silsden (7.00).

Town's FA Youth Cup tie against Burscough has also been re-arranged for next Tuesday (Galpharm, 7.30).
