Philip Billing shocked his teammates by turning up to Friday's training session minus his distinctive hairdo.

The midfielder, who signed a new deal last month, shaved his locks on the quiet.

And Joe Lolley admitted that while he had been informed about a visit to the barbers, he thought Billing was going in for a trim.

The Dane was previously rather easy to pick out on the pitch with his hair and height combining to make it easy for the referee and rival fans to spot him and tot up perceived fouls.

But that's no longer the case.

Billing was a late sub in Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough and will be hoping to earn back his starting berth for the visit of Hull City on Saturday.

He has one goal in 11 senior appearances this season, but has become an increasingly pivotal figure in David Wagner's first team squad.
