Huddersfield Town suffered a third away defeat on the bounce at Bolton Wanderers as Craig Davies' second-half strike inflicted more away-day pain on manager Chris Powell.

In a fairly even contest, Davies struck the crossbar for the hosts early on, with Nahki Wells going closest from a Town perspective in the first half with a low snapshot which was well turned away by Bolton goalkeeper Andy Lonergan.

Jacob Butterfield passed up a wonderful opportunity to break the deadlock from close range as Lonergan smothered before Davies grabbed the all-decisive goal with a clinical finish from a Liam Feeney pull-back.
