LEE CLARK is ready to push Anthony Pilkington to the max.

Town’s manager has been delighted with the winger’s form since he arrived in a £500,000 transfer from League I rivals Stockport.

But he believes there is plenty more to come.

“Anthony has got huge talent and huge potential, but he’s still learning and he tends to drift in and out of games a little,” said Clark.

“Our last game of the season at Leyton Orient was a perfect example, because he was superb in the first half, but quieter in the second.

“Part of my job is to help him attain consistency, and achieving that is as much mental as physical.

“Believe me, Anthony has the ability to play in the Premier League.

“He’s a great player to work with in training because he’s so open to improving himself, and I want to help him reach the top, hopefully with this club.

“I’ve told him I’ll be on his case 24/7, constantly cajoling and urging him on and helping him raise the bar in terms of his standards. There’s more to come.”
