FANS have the chance to meet Town players next week when the club stages a series of events to promote the Yorkshire Building Society Terriers Account.
A selection of players will visit local YBS branches between 1.00 and 4.00 each day, with anyone opening an account, which contributes financially to Town’s academy system, getting a free ball or clock.
The timetable is: Monday Brighouse, Tuesday Holmfirth and Waterloo, Wednesday Meltham and Mirfield, Thursday Huddersfield, Friday Dewsbury and Ossett.
Each year the YBS hand 1% of the balance of Terriers Accounts to the academy. From April 2008 to September 2008, £70,000 was raised.
Town, meanwhile, have formed a new communications department headed by former media manager Alisdair Straughan. The media graduate will now also be responsible for the press, PR, communication and marketing strategies.
Economics graduate David Sykes will become the press officer.
His duties include managing the club website and editing the programme.
Director of business development Sean Jarvis explained: “We need to become more proactive and consistent in our communication to supporters.”
