ANTHONY GRIFFITH, Port Vale’s Huddersfield-born star, is hoping to complete a hat trick of wins over his hometown club tomorrow.
The versatile 23-year-old, who has been playing at right wing-back but can also operate in midfield, helped Vale to a 4-3 victory in last season’s first-round tie at the Galpharm.
He also featured for his first club Doncaster when they won 2-1 at the stadium in the first round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy in 2006-07.
Griffith, from Brackenhall, had loan spells at Oxford, Darlington, Stafford and Halifax while with Doncaster.
He joined Vale during the 2008 close-season.
The Vale side also includes former Town centre-back John McCombe.
The 20-year-old academy product made 20 first-team appearances before joining Hereford in the 2007 close-season.
He went to Vale a year later.
