IT'S unlikely Paul Rachubka will become a loan option for Town.

The play-off winning keeper from last season is on loan with League II Northampton at the moment.

His spell at Sixfields doesn't end until the LDV tie against Torquay a week on Tuesday, November 2, when he will return to Premiership Charlton.

By then, however, Town will have played two further matches (against Blackpool in League and LDV) without goalkeeping cover, other than possibly physio Lee Martin as an emergency measure.

Jackson is keen to draft in some back-up as quickly as possible with first-choice Ian Gray ruled out for three weeks because of a groin injury which, if it doesn't settle down, could still require surgery to cure.

Gray will work under the supervision of Martin for the next two weeks before trying to resume full training.

"The hernia specialist is wary of immediate surgery because Ian has had three operations in the groin area in the past, so we'll work on some strengthening for now and if he comes through it, fine," said Martin.

"If not we'll go back to the specialist who will do a minor op to have a look around."

Meanwhile, Iffy Onuora is possibly heading back to Swindon as Youth Development Officer after being sacked as coach by Walsall. He played at Swindon under manager Andy King.
